Multi-Year Accessibility Plan (2023 – 2028)

We are committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity.

SM Cyclo of Canada, Ltd. (Sumitomo Drive Technologies) is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. This accessibility plan outlines the steps we are taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.

Our plan shows how we will play a role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians.

The plan is reviewed and updated at least once every 5 years.

We will train every person as soon as practicable after being hired and provide training in respect of any changes to the policies. We maintain records of the training, including the names of the individuals trained and the dates on which the training was provided.

Past Achievements to Remove and Prevent Barriers

Accommodations made to date have included:
Additional overhead lighting installed over office cubicles was requested and installed to provide additional light on an individual’s workspace.
Metal work table in the assembly area was shortened in height

A magnification light was installed for an individual to make documents easier to read
A large, curved monitor installed to assist an individual with low vision.

All staff have been trained on the purpose of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and the requirements of the Customer Service Standard.
All new employees receive this training as part of their orientation.
