Job Description
Ensure sales orders ship out on time, are complete in scope, and meet or exceed customers specifications and/or expectations. The Project Coordinator is the point of contact (internal & external) for sales orders.
Hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
- Manage process flow of sales order.
- Work with internal team (Engineering, Production Control, Technical Support, etc.) to ensure each department understands the scope of the sales order, document submission milestones, and deliverables from inception to completion.
- Review sales order specifications, for completeness and accurately enter order in AS400 system.
- Monitor and track the process work flow from sales order entry to shipping and manage all steps to ensure on time delivery to the customer.
- Develop production schedule to ensure timeline is clear and communicate with internal team and/or process owner to ensure the team is aware of milestone tasks required for on time delivery.
- Report all potential delays to customer, Sumitomo Engineering team, and necessary stakeholders.
- Ensure that budgets are maintained and sales orders are within quoted margins.
- Review outline drawings as required.
- Prepare and provide work orders to shop with detailed assembly instructions.
- Manage documentation to ensure traceability.
- Support Quality and assist with customers requested documentation for assigned sales orders
- Obtain vendor and internal factory quotations as required.
- Responsible for continuous improvement ideas and execution of these ideas.
- Other duties as assigned by PM supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist.
- Knowledge of rotating equipment, such as gearboxes, is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Ability to work in a team environment and be a participative team member.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be fluent in English, written and verbal. French is an asset.
- This position requires periodic travel if necessary.
