Fortress Stainless Steel Reducer Launch
Sumitomo is pleased to announce the launch of our first Stainless Steel speed reducer, Fortress. After considerable research and development, we are now introducing a right angle stainless reducer to the market. Incorporating proven Hypoid gearing technology, which can also be found in our Hyponic product line, we have developed a stainless product that will not only hold up in those harsh caustic environments, but will provide production facilities with an efficient and maintenance free solution.
Kevin Blount, Director of Business Development led the R&D efforts and weighed in on this exciting product launch. "We've been meticulous in developing this product, and we believe it offers some features and benefits our competitors don't. We are extremely excited to finally have a stainless reducer in our portfolio, and are looking forward to expanding the line."
The Fortress line will initially come in two sizes, ranging from 1/2HP up to 2HP and offered in ratios 7:1 up to 60:1. It will be available with multiple mounting options, an IP69K rating, and a bore size up to 1-7/16in. Due to the inherent design and efficiency of the Hypoid gearing, all Fortress units are maintenance free, filled by the factory with FDA approved synthetic grease, and sealed for life. This allows for universal mounting without the worry of leaking oil. Fortress units are suitable for applications where stainless steel reducers are required, or where paint can be compromised by the environment or by caustic cleaning agents.
